The day began with hopes that were so high,
Positive energy now did amass.
Been a long time coming, good to feel spry,
Beautiful red of morning, dew damp grass.

Tried to hold the feeling throughout the day,
Still some niggling worry that just won’t stop.
Nervous little twitches, sniffing like prey,
Worry without reason still makes heads throb.

Her way was to arrive with the shadows,
As darkness began to conquer the light,
Longing for a mate no longer sallow,
Filled with grief soon she would say her goodnight.

Sleepless each stared into oblivion,
Both pray till morn for forgiveness of sin.
