For over an hour we shared the road, that white car and me.
I stayed mostly in my lane while he flitted frenetically.

Two busy lanes that headed north; another two the south:
Tame and calm by my new home’s code but my heart was in my mouth.

White car would follow close; trying to make the world give way.
Drove like a fool without a thought to living through the day.

Nineteen million packed in a space that can barely hold us all
How sad would be the outcome if his actions made many fall?

Came my time to exit and what do I spy?
White car with all his gyrations is still visible to my eye.
