Oh, what a night! Cried out intoxicated voices!
For this revelry lift our glasses and rejoice
Sad, morose folks seem to rule the Earth
Choose now to reject sorrow and embrace time of mirth

Hour or date of our end remains a mystery
Live life while we’re here, reject path of misery
Like a thief in the night grim reaper will come calling
Before the end is nigh life’s sketch book we must draw in

Rise and rejoice! Lead the Earthly chorus!
Oh life, sublime! This is the time for all to shine

Hair shirts and self-denial, general mortification
Reject spiritual poverty without hesitation
Those who admonish mirth and cringe at jocularity
What are their mores and what do they preach?

Pleasures of the flesh are seasoning of life
Hardships must endure but value not unneeded stripes
Where is the value in segmented man?
We must eat gustily and live while we can

Rise and rejoice! Lead the Earthly chorus!
Oh life, sublime! This is the time for all to shine

Life it slips by like a thief in the wink of an eye
Memories and friends need to forge fore we die
Those that preach a life of constant sorrow
Soggy bottomed brains whom misery love to borrow

Rise and rejoice! Sing out ecstatic chorus!
Embrace joy, sing hallelujah when we flourish
Doomsayers do not heed! No! Ecstatically we sing!
Oh, life! Our Earthly life! What wonders you do bring!

Rise and rejoice! Lead the Earthly chorus!
Oh life, sublime! This is the time for all to shine
