Each of us composed of atoms from exploded distant stars
Stardust and energy in combination sans par
Mass and energy existing since universal start
Many envision eternal souls; essence of what we are

Brick and mortar, concrete with reinforcing bar
Materials used to build higher and reach for the stars
Edifices of ages that crumble down as rubble and dust
Naught corporeal stands forever: In that we can all trust

Science and theology in harmonious ballet
Micro blocks of Quarks, Spin, Charm, Tau; Subatomic Array
All that we have gleaned and great marvels we think we now know
Veils that we’re removing as ever upward Mankind grows

Yet, knowledge without wisdom is deader than faith without works
What use bookish knowledge if it produces naught but sophomoric smirks?
Each of us an Einstein within our personal V.R. realms
Condescendingly dismiss views of others as refuse that reeks and smells

How much nobler and wiser race we have potential to ascend
Through service to fellow travelers we can create great wealth’s dividend
But our tiny little egos and covetous small minds
Have us replaying roles of Cro-Magnon, seekers forever blind

I got mine ‘forget’ you guys reduced to IGMFYG
Look askance at others whom we view so priggishly
Each of us is feeding from one vast universal plate
Pray that as a species we evolve before it’s all too late

Each of us composed of atoms from exploded distant stars
Stardust and energy in combination sans par
Mass and energy existing since universal start
Many envision eternal souls; essence of what we are
