Preamble declares life, liberty
and happiness’ pursuit:
To this sacred honor pledged;
this is my nation’s roots.
Ten Amendments to Constitution,
basic Bill of Rights,
colonials’ grievances
caused ancestors to fight.

Our First Right is Freedom!
Whether worship, speech or press.
Dictating beliefs to citizens
is unholy mess.
Second is Militia,
a Right that is not absolute;
just as no warrants needed
when police are in hot pursuit.

Third is housing soldiers,
onerous cost that now’s old news.
Fourth, unreasonable search or seizure,
when warrants are abused.
Due Process Rights are outlined
in Amendments Five through Eight,
our whole judicial process
on innocence gives weight.

Nine, oh joy of joys,
says we’ve lots more rights than these,
and Ten, another omnibus,
States and citizens should please.
None of these Rights unconditional,
on Paine of Common Sense,
so it truly is appalling
logic Gun-Nuts do dispense.

They love weaving fantasies
about Good Guys with Guns
and how it is gun barrels
that keeps despotism hung.
“Statistics are for liars!”
they love to scream their alt-truth,
as they declare, “Sic semper tyrannis!”
quoting John Wilkes Booth.

More guns equals more deaths,
this is not fiction, it is fact
and, my, it is amazing
how blind they are to that.
“Shall not be infringed!” “Shall not be infringed!”
let’s just take a look,
at Second Amendment truths
Death Eaters love to overlook.

Amendments One to Ten
in USA’s Bill of Rights
each and every freedom’s balanced
by judicial oversight.
Freedom for the individual
should not reap death and harm,
yet restrictions on gun ownership
cause them such alarm.

Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!
Free to say, “Hey! I got mine!”
This mantra of shall not be infringed
is just asinine.
No Right is absolute,
not even Right to Life,
yet gun totting Death Eaters
swear to the death they’ll fight.

Four-hundred-million firearms
in the USA:
Death Eaters, “Shall not be infringed,”
it must end today.
Well regulated militia?
What is that? A joke?
Second Amendment unifringed?
On dead bodies must we choke?

Today fifty children
will be shot with a gun.
Today one-hundred people shot dead;
literally a ton.
No restrictions on your “Right”
to bear and keep arms?
It takes a sick animal
to turn back on mayhem and harm.

Preamble declares life, liberty
and happiness’ pursuit:
To this sacred honor pledged;
this is my nation’s roots.
Ten Amendments to Constitution,
basic Bill of Rights,
in the name of survival
uninfringed is in my sights.
