Image may contain: airplane, water and outdoorThis day, this day, must never come again.
This day, this day, beginning of the end?
A holocaust, burnt offering to God?
In man-made flames Hiroshima devoured.
The threat of war hangs like Damocles sword:
The time of MAD surely has come and gone?
To end it all thermonuclear strike?
These dogs have teeth; they’ve vicious bark and bite.
Sabers rattle, “We won’t be pushed around!”
Bombastic speech is far too easily found.
Posture and pose and cater to the base.
Our leadership is world-wide disgrace.
To fan the flames just proves our impotence.
We have the power, make world best that it’s been.
Now’s time to beat our swords into plowshares;
let’s still drumbeat, ask why we’re running scared.
Fear mongering without addressing woes
defines our bonds; song politicians know.
“We’re good, they’re bad!” Nationalists’ refrain:
Military-Industrial Complex gain.
Mighty toddlers seem to hold the world’s reins.
In three more days feel Nagasaki’s pain.
My glasses hue you think is rose colored?
I think it’s world’s whose viewpoint is absurd.
This day, this day, must never come again.
This day, this day beginning of the end?
A holocaust, burnt offering to God?
In man-made flames Hiroshima devoured.
