I am a true adherent to the belief that we are all crazy, and I’m fine with that until somebody’s crazy starts hurting someone.
“Faith Healing” kills. You want to pray? Do it! I do. You want to convince others to put their faith in God and eschew medical treatment? Go. To. Hell.
Faith Healing comes in many forms. Anti-vaxers are faith healers. So are the Pot Cures Cancer crowd. Really? Pot CURES cancer? Go. To. Hell.
I get accused of being anti pot, which is technically true. I’m kind of a corporeal puritan and I want all of us to take proper care of ourselves and therefor push an anti-drug usage agenda, but it’s none of my business if adults smoke weed. I think laws prohibiting adults from using weed are immoral and need to be eliminated. You got that?
But in a comparative moral equivalency telling people that POT CURES CANCER! Is even more wrong. Why? Because believing in faith healing prevents people from getting life saving treatment, rendering the oft quoted statement, “Pot’s never killed anyone,” highly questionable.
Wanna smoke weed as an adult? None of my business. Wanna convince folks that something that has NOT been shown to CURE cancer is safe and effective? Go. To. Hell.
Throwing a dangerous lie, POT CURES CANCER! in with a bunch of truths, Pot Treats Symptoms! Pot eases pain! And on and on is reprehensible. Please don’t kill any more of my friends, one was enough.
Keep the faith!
