We ran together as the sun broke through,
Side by side in tropical early light.
Honeymoon too soon gone with southern wind,
Though my body departs heart stays with you.
Long days and nights of restless loneliness,
As separation penetrates essence.
My soul’s greatest wish to be by your side,
Each dreary day drags without dearest bride.
Heart searing isolation that nags and taunts,
Even more onerous than times before.
But at the end awaits life’s greatest prize,
When I do again unite with sweet mate.
Each our heavy burden we must carry,
Love enable Herculean labor.
