Fields lie in stubble as they catch their breath;
October sun kisses cotton candy sky.
Seed filled silos, stuffed with Gaia’s wealth,
Twilight of year’s end filled with contented sighs.
Twelve thousand years of harvesting her grains!
Libra to Virgo each ten centuries;
Reaping Demeter’s bounty all good thane.
Famine strong in primordial memories.
Gift of strong bodies and inquiring minds;
Ceres subdues evil horseman from the sky!
Mortals kneel at love’s harvest in her prime,
Starvation’s grip with harvest we defy.
World lies before us in her great bounty,
Lift our cups to the sky, toast her soundly!
