A land so long ago, in a time far away
began dance marathon and to it we two sway.
The Twist, The Jerk, The Jive, The Dance of Seven Veils,
ballet interpretive now leaves us both impaled.
Aches and pains of dancing between sheets deliver;
fear waters which now drink flow from fetid river.
Once touched we dark of morning now just roll away,
dreamed our pain and angst we could sweep way with a lay?
A thousand deaths endured at your hands, lips and tongue,
lacking conviction’s courage back to us we run.
Run back to viper’s nest, with snaking sibilance,
your forked tongue twists with mine, share soul extracting kiss.
Like a lower member rib cage expands, contracts,
grows at your gentle touch, till your love makes it crack.
Marrow you’ve extracted from bone front and center,
as sternum round our hearts we’ve let poison enter.
Desire desiccated, penetration dry,
no coos in our loving, your reins drive brings pain’s cries.
Unclear how we got here, no road map for escape,
no Tango we Hustle, now even lust is chaste.
Lovely is the orchid, and fragrant is sweet rose,
wherefore joy in garden when love has been deposed?
A land so long ago, in a time far away,
began dance macabre to it condemned to sway.
