Miles spread out make fifty six thousand square
Verdant shoots adorn lovely rolling hills
Blue sky summer, Cumulus clouds in air
Land of fields and pastures bask in sunlight

Five hundred fifty five her density
Space to think and breathe, thankful to live free
Simple pleasures of bike rides and cold beer
Seventeen year home receding in past

Curse the winters, love friendly warm folk
Heartland life first memories did invoke
Just right of conterminous USA
Land in which I’ve reared, worked and prayed

Strong gales of change keep blowing me around
Southern tip of melting pot’s where I’m bound
